Storm Forces School Closings and/or Early Dismissals
Districts begin announcing changes to this weeks schedule due to winter storm Hercules.
Thousands of schools along the eastern seaboard have announced cancelations, early dismissals, or closings. Check out the list below to see what your district is doing.
Port Jefferson School District
According to the district's website, "All District Facilities will be closing at noon today, Thursday January 2nd and remain closed tomorrow Friday January 3rd due to the weather," said the Port Jefferson School District. "District facilities will not be available to any outside groups."
Comsewogue School District
In winter recess, school reopens Jan. 6 -- Update at 1:02 p.m. from Superintendent Joseph Rella. Rella said all buildings will be closed tomorrow and there will be no daycare.
Miller Place School District
In winter recess, school reopens Jan. 6 -- No word on building status.
Rocky Point School District
In winter recess, school reopens Jan. 6 -- No word on building status.
Mount Sinai School District
