Students Chip in to Clean Up Village For Earth Day

9th Annual Earth Day Clean Sweep sponsored by Port Jefferson’s Business Improvement District.

students from the “Green Team” took to the streets of Port Jefferson village on Saturday to help out with the . Sponsored by the Business Improvement District (BID), the event brings residents and groups together to clean up the village to celebrate Earth Day.

The kids were joined by students from Stony Brook University, The Stony Brook School and a group from Maryhaven.

The clean-up kicked off at around 9 a.m. at the . Refreshments and t-shirts were provided to volunteers by the BID. Volunteers picked up litter, pulled weeds, and did a number of other tasks to beautify the village.
