Voter's Guide: Port Jeff, Comsewogue School Budget, Board Election
What you need to know for Tuesday's vote.
Port Jefferson
Residents living in the Port Jefferson School District will vote on the district’s $40.33 million proposed budget for the 2014-15 school year on Tuesday.
The proposal calls for a 2.56 percent increase in spending over the current year and carries a 1.43 percent tax levy increase, which is within the state's tax cap.
There are no contested school board races this year as both incumbents, Adam DeWitt and Robert Ramus, are running unopposed.
Polls are open Tuesday from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Earl L. Vandermeulen High School.

Comsewogue
Residents living in the Comsewogue School District will vote on the district’s $83.31 million proposed budget for the 2014-15 school year on Tuesday.
The proposal calls for a 2.7 percent increase in spending over the current year and carries a 2.4 percent tax levy increase, which is within the state's tax cap.

Six candidates–incumbents Alexandra Gordon and James Sanchez, as well as challengers Christopher McCrary, Richard Rennard, Peter Reyes and John Kenneth–are running for three at-large seats on the Comsewogue Board of Education.
Polls are open Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. in the Comsewogue High School gymnasium.
