WATCH: Comsewogue Supe Starts YouTube Channel

Joseph Rella, Comsewogue School District superintendent, will be giving updates with online videos to district parents, students and taxpayers.

Comsewogue School District Superintendent Joseph Rella will be reaching out to the district in a new way from now on: YouTube.

The superintendent recorded his first message Wednesday morning, drawing over 350 views in the first 24 hours in an effort to reach out to parents and families.

"I'm going to be creating YouTube videos just to bring you up to speed on things," he said in the first video. "Just another way to get the word out."

Rella's first message touched upon two issues: a note the district had put out a day prior regarding a reported stranger who spoke to girls walking from school, as well as the school budget.

The superintendent said the man who approached the girls was simply asking them to get out of the street, and no harm was intended.

The district will also not plan on piercing the tax levy cap, likely coming in at its allowed 4.1 percent. A budget meeting is set for Thursday night at 7:30 p.m.

Will you watch the superintendent's YouTube messages? Do you think it's a good way to reach out to the community?
