Water Main Break Closes Port Jefferson Elementary School

Pipe put in place over 50 years ago when school was first built, according to Superintendent.

No doubt there were young children rejoicing in Port Jefferson on Tuesday morning.

A water pipe to Edna Louise Spears Elementary School burst on school property near the custodial entrance to the building on Monday afternoon causing school to be cancelled on Tuesday, according to Superintendent Kenneth Bossert.

Fortunately there wasn't any flooding because the water was all underground and caught in the nick of time.
