Port Jeff Defends Mayors Cup

The foursome from Port Jeff defended the trophy, bringing home the Mayors Cup in golf for the second year in a row.

Port Jefferson Mayor Margot Garant was joined by Bill Mackedon, Director of Golf at , Denise Boyd, Director of Recreation at and village trustee Lee Rosner to bring the Mayors Cup home again this year at the annual Suffolk County Village Officials Golf Outing held at in East Hampton on Monday.

Last year the team from Port Jefferson won the Mayors Cup trophy at the golf outing held at .

According to a statement released by the village of Port Jefferson, during this year's outing the rain was "coming down in sheets and the wind from the ocean made it difficult at times to drive the ball." Still, the Port Jefferson team was able to bring home the trophy.
