Port Jeff Station Resident Rants About Sports for WFAN Judges

Contest by sports radio station allows locals to show off their sports knowledge.

Brandon Contes from Port Jefferson Station was among ten people from Long Island and Queens who got a chance to show sports radio station WFAN their sports knowledge and on-air skills during the semi-finals of the station's second Phenom Challenge at in Levittown.

The contestants first answered questions from three judges about their sports fandom and personal lives before getting two minutes to perform a sample opening monologue to a show. They then faced more questions afterwards about current hot topics in New York sports.

Contes stood up to talk about baseball and the Mets among other sports subjects.

The finals of the competition will take place at a bar along the Jersey Shore on August 19.
