Team Port Jeff Defends Title Against Mather Hospital in Village Cup Regatta

The 2nd annual Village Cup Regatta benefited pancreatic cancer research.

Team Port Jeff came out on top, defending its title in the against on Sunday.

In all twenty boats took part in the sailing race in the Long Island Sound, each divided up by boat size and representing the two competing teams.

The Regatta is presented by the in collaboration with the village of Port Jefferson and the Port Jefferson Conservancy. Money raised from the Regatta goes toward the fight against pancreatic cancer.

This year the regatta brought in $35,550. The money will be split between pancreatic cancer treatment at Mather Hospital and the Lustgarten Foundation, which has a primary focus of funding pancreatic cancer research.
