Gallery: Counting Crows Croon, Crowd Caws at Packed Concert

Friday's show at Brookhaven's Pennysaver Amphitheater overflows venue.

When one of the 1990's most recognizable alternative acts came to Brookhaven Friday, hundred flocked to see them.

Fans of The Counting Crows overflowed the Pennysaver Amphitheater at Bald Hill on, their cars filling up the venue's parking lot, lining the nearby roads and even spilling over in Brookhaven Town Hall a mile away.

Though adult alternative band The Wallflowers opened the 7 p.m. show, as lines getting into the amphitheater swelled well after 8 p.m., it was clear the night's main act had the huge local draw.

For fans, the show was no disappointment. The band, whose frontman Adam Duritz told the audience that Friday's concert marked the start of their American tour, played most of the hits that made them famous nearly two decades ago, like the 1994 anthem "Round Here."
