Stand-Up Paddle Boarding Comes To Port Jefferson Harbor

It's the fastest-growing sport, Arnold Pollack says, and it has arrived at Port Jefferson Harbor. Stand-up paddle boarding is now available at Danford's Marina.

Pollack, owner of Snow Shed in Port Jefferson Station, has opened up a kiosk renting out paddle boards and kayaks and teaching lessons too.

"It's a perfect fit," he said Wednesday. "It's great water access, great for the community."

Rentals cost $35 for one hour and $50 for two hours, or $75 for a half day and $100 for a full day. A part of that rental fee can be applied to the purchase of a paddle board at Snow Shed for those interested in buying one. Lessons are also available starting at $45 per person.

Snow Shed also offers paddle yoga classes on Thursday evenings at 6:30 p.m.

Call the store at 631-473-2572 for more information or to book an appointment.
