Mather Hospital Auxiliary Almost Halfway to Goal of $1 Million in Donations

Volunteer organization presented hospital with a gift of $231,000 in 2012.

Mather Hospital’s Auxiliary - a volunteer group dedicated to raising money and providing needed services – is just about halfway to its goal of donating $1 million to the hospital.

For the second year in a row, the Auxiliary has donated $231,000 to the hospital, giving a total of $462,000 toward their goal of helping to fund the construction of a new 36-all-single-bed patient care unit in the Cody Surgery Pavilion at Mather. The donation represents money raised from its Thrift Shop, Gift Shop, lobby sales, raffles and other fundraising activities.

The funds were presented by Auxiliary President Helen Rodowicz at the annual Volunteer Appreciation Party at Mather. The Auxiliary also awarded seven college awards to junior volunteers.
