Port Jefferson PTA Team Walking in Rocky Point Relay For Life on Friday

Team hopes to launch village event next year.

Port Jefferson will be represented at the Rocky Point Relay for Life this Friday by the "Port Jeff Pals," a team started by the Port Jefferson PTA.

One member from the 10 person team will be walking on the track from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Participation this year is in hopes that Port Jefferson can have their own community Relay for Life event in the future, according to team member Jill Russell.

Port Jefferson village mayor Margot Garant has also been confirmed to be on hand at the event to help out.
