Computer Basics, Seminar, Roller Derby Recruitment This Week

It's a week of learning and classes in Port Jefferson.

Here's a look at what's happening in Port Jefferson this week.

- Computer Basics: In this hands-on class for beginners, you will learn all the basics. The class will cover the Windows desktop, using the mouse, opening programs, creating a letter, saving files, copy and paste and more. This class is presented by Computer Instructor Kristine Cucinello and will take place on Jan. 28 at 10:30 a.m. at the Port Jefferson Free Library.

- Bring Me The Money. This interactive workshop will help you to: Know your numbers story and where to start, understand the numbers in your business. How to create a strategy to work proactively on your business, not reactively, Create a step system in increasing your price points, and pricing packages versus services, Understand the results & benefits you offer your clients, and How to deal with obstacles and fears that come up in dealing with your numbers and make your business fun. - Strong Island Roller Derby: SIDR's first recruitment session of 2014 is right around the corner!  Women over 21, you're invited to SIDR's open house on January 28th.  You'll have the option to participate in a free bootcamp of basic derby skills, meet other members and learn more about the fast growing sport of women's roller derby. Referees, non-skating officials and volunteers also needed. No experience necessary. Recruitment begins on Jan. 28 at 8 p.m. at 384 Mark Tree Road in Setauket-East Setauket.

- Digital Photography Basics: This is a general introductory class for all digital cameras. Topics covered will include camera shooting modes, white balance, ISO, shooting techniques getting your images out of the camera and more. Please bring your camera and instruction manual to class. Instructor is Professional Photographer and Certified Photographic Counselor John Spoltore. Class begins Jan. 29 at 7 p.m. at the Port Jefferson Free Library.
