Thursday night is karaoke night at Port Jazz from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. with no cover charge.

The village’s Harborside Concert Series continues on Thursday at 8 p.m. with The Street Survivors, a salute to Lynyrd Skynrd.
Also at Port Jazz, you’ll find cover band Buttered Soul starting at 9 p.m. on Friday and 70s dance band Terri Hines starting at 9 p.m. on Saturday.

The weekly Port Jefferson village farmer’s market is set for Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
On Sunday, head to Dipamkara Meditation Center at 10:30 a.m. for a session titled “Fulfilling All Wishes Through the Wisdom of Emptiness.”

Music Together is offering a free demo class at the Port Jefferson Village Center at 10 a.m. on Saturday; space is limited. Details here.
Catch Katie’s Puppets at the Port Jefferson Village Center at 2 p.m. – a puppet show followed by a make-and-take puppet activity ($12-$14).
The Maritime Explorium is open on Saturday and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. ($5 admission).

True Believer Hard Apple Cider is the taster’s choice at Brewtopia in Port Jefferson this weekend. Free tasting starts at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
Vine 2 Wine is offering a free wine-and-cheese pairing event on Saturday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Family
Horse-drawn carriage rides are fun for the whole family on Thursdays starting at 6 p.m. during the summer at the Stony Brook Village Center ($3).
Cultural
“Long Island’s Auto Racing Heritage” is on display seven days a week at the Ward Melville Heritage Organization’s Educational & Cultural Center ($2-$4).
The 9th annual Gallery North Joseph Reboli Wet Paint Festival is set for Friday through Sunday at West Meadow Beach and the Old Field Farm County Park, where you can see artists painting en plein air. Their work will be on display the following week.
As part of the Wet Paint Festival, you can catch an “ArTalk” given by professional artists themselves at those two locations. Click here for more details.
The exhibit “Country Scenes for City Patrons: Works by William Sydney Mount” is on display through Labor Day and the exhibit “Coney Island and Jones Beach: Empires by the Sea” is on display through Dec. 29 at The Long Island Museum, along with a recently renovated carriage gallery.

Join Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic for a wine tasting party at 5 p.m. at the Old Field Club on Sunday to not only celebrate the organization’s 80th anniversary, but also support its educational and health programs.

Live Music
Rock out to No Excuses at Napper Tandy’s in Miller Place Saturday at 10 p.m. with drink specials all night.
Local band The Serotones, made up of Miller Place grads, will be performing Saturday night at Crazy Beans.
Educational
Want to learn how to play the guitar? A group-style introduction lesson at the North Shore Public Library on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. will teach you the basics for playing the guitar. Register ahead of time. Class costs $25.
