The Port Jefferson Volunteer Ambulance Corps is a volunteer and career EMS system that has been protecting the community for 53 years. The organization provides emergency medical services to a 16 square mile area of Suffolk County, which encompasses 30,000 individuals. It provides 24 hour response services, operating several ambulances and emergency vehicles. In addition to medical emergencies, it responds to technical rescue as well as providing first response life safety to biological, chemical and radioactive hazards. Volunteers are always welcome and are trained by the Corps.
