Oh, how classy.
Yvonne Affronti June 18, 2013 at 06:13 pm
And they won't let me put an attractive sign in the yard that is part of my retail space?
David Rebori June 17, 2013 at 03:58 pm
Nothing can survive here, as far as bars and restaurants. every time I drive by either theRead More restaurant is closed, or will be closing soon.

Moron's,cattleman's???? Personally,I think a Gentleman's club would be a perfect addition to theRead More neighborhood. It would bring a higher quality of big spenders to the local businesses and I wouldn't mind going there for a cocktail from time to time.

How about a Diner? Seaport does well!
Woodhaven Center of Care owner Ken Gaul has presented plans for a new sewage treatment plant to handle the center and support other businesses.
Sheila McCarthy Granito June 7, 2013 at 11:44 am
This is not a good idea. The only other interested party is the proposed 80 unit workforce housingRead More project "Jefferson Meadows". The surrounding community certainly needs to weigh in on any huge waste treatment plant that could be built in our hamlet. There is a commercial HUB study in the works that may require increased sewage treatment north of Route 347 closer to the train station where increased density is more appropriate.
Joan Nickeson June 7, 2013 at 12:07 pm
It is unwanted and unnecessary. The immediate community has no interest or need for this.Read More Woodhaven should do what it needs, for its own residents and do it with their own private funds. Taxpaying homeowners certainly don't want tax-payer funded Suffolk Co grant money to support unwanted low income housing that was referenced above.

The vanilla balsamic vinegar is AMAZING! Good luck to a fantastic business and welcome addition toRead More the village!!!
nitrorob_12 June 8, 2013 at 11:54 am
That section of 112 does need to be cleaned up.
PAUL BATONE June 10, 2013 at 07:40 am
The town rezoned that location back in 2003 and was no longer zoned for repairs but for retailRead More only, and once again the horrible landlord( LORETTA BOVE,COACH REALITY OF PORT JEFF) presented a false lease to the new tenants and surprise, out you go.The homeless, druggies and derelicts certainly added fuel to that fire at that location. Danos moved from that location after 24 years because of landlord issues.Americas Tire does have 3 other locations with different names so working capitol was not the problem.
David Rebori June 17, 2013 at 04:00 pm
This is a horrible location. Just think, this area of Port Jeff is terrible for businesses! TheRead More building is disgusting and ugly and should be torn down. Why do you think Dano's Auto Clinic moved down to the other side of 347?

They really need to get the staff up to speed. I went in there once since it re-opened, they wereRead More slow as anything, and everyone was getting an incorrect order, myself included. The selection of donuts was terrible also. The one down the street in Mt Sinai is not much better either, as far as service goes at least. The old staff at this location was great. Was amazing walking in and they knew what I wanted before I even ordered!
David Rebori June 17, 2013 at 04:04 pm
Have to agree Earl. The staff is horrible now, but the outside is much nicer. It was old and itRead More needed an update. I still can't understand why they are going to be putting another Dunkin Donuts by Kohl's in Setauket. It is completely unnecessary.
David Rebori June 17, 2013 at 04:01 pm
How many frozen yogurts are going to open in Port Jeff Station? Seems like this one could be forRead More competition.
Mels Ditties June 1, 2013 at 12:28 pm
LUV the creativity of their name!!...Wish them much success!!
PJS2003 June 2, 2013 at 08:16 am
Good luck!

If you ignore the place, just like all the others it will go away
Fred May 29, 2013 at 09:43 pm
I pass this place everyday and never see anyone in there. I don't even know what kind of place itRead More is? Is it a sophisticated place to take a date too? Is it a place I can watch "the game" with the guys? Is is a family friendly place? From its lack of marketing, lack of customers and bland generic look, it seems like a shady crack den. I hope I'm wrong, but would like to see more local businesses trying to market themselves better. I'd rather shop local, but until I can vouch for my safety, I'll have my beer at Applebees
Mels Ditties May 29, 2013 at 11:47 pm
Budget is very tight these days, so dinners out is not a regular deal for us...I did see somewhereRead More that this place had live music and good food....Guess not too many folks are frequenting the place... Fred, I'm curious, in terms of marketing, these days, where would be the best exposure?...Online? (if so, where?)...Print? (if so, which paper?)...TV (waaaay too expensive if you're not a franchise....I barely read papers these days, except online publications...I've got TIVO, so commercials are rarely shown on my TV...and online has so many options, but where is the best single local?
george moraitis May 30, 2013 at 01:41 pm
Just in time for 'Hurricane' Season......
Earl May 30, 2013 at 02:18 pm
What is nice is this station is cheaper than the 2 other Hess stations in either direction on 112.Read More May not stay that way for long, but nice to see. Hess is also not closing all their stations, they are getting out of operating them. I am sure some other company will come in and buy them, and possibly still operate them the same. We MAY never even notice if/when that happens.
ARCH STANTON May 31, 2013 at 12:01 am
I HAVEN'T BOUGHT GAS FROM A HESS STATION IN TWO YEARS. THEIR PRICE PER GALLON IS ALWAYS 8-10 CENTSRead More MORE THAN THEIR COMPETITORS.

While they're replacing spots, maybe they can do a little proper repaving so that lot doesn't turnRead More into the surface of the moon every winter.
Americanivory May 22, 2013 at 05:49 pm
very excited - this is what our community needs, less tire and car shops and more family friendlyRead More shops. I think we should thank Lou Antoniello of PJS who has worked long and hard on this area of our town that was previously neglected by all. This area is now becoming a pleasant family friendly area for shopping and entertainment.
George Fabian May 15, 2013 at 01:44 pm
Another useless strip mall adding no value to the area. In a year or so there will be vacancies andRead More the place will look horrible. I'm totally against this project, it is a waste of land use that the residents get stuck with after the project goes bust. There are plenty of malls in the area already. This is a bad idea!
Mels Ditties May 15, 2013 at 02:24 pm
After years of watching sign after sign touting the "Coming Soon" building for the site,Read More it's very worrisome that calls to the number on the sign weren't answered....Is it actually to be a new building or is it just a new sign???... In addition that spot is a nightmare for access....Just like the hockey/sports area next door, eastbound drivers must make a very tricky u-turn just out of the merge of Hallock/25a...IF one car QUICKLY gets out of the flow of trafffic, it's not that bad...if it's more than one car it's an accident waiting to happen... Oh and one more thing, what ever happened to the big developement (including town center clock tower) that was proposed and fought for a few hundred yards east on that road?...This economy doesn't need more businesses that will build & then be empty in a year or two (ala Checkers in Lake Grove)
Earl May 15, 2013 at 04:46 pm
Mels they will solve the turning issue probably by adding more traffic lights. 347 could use a fewRead More more right?
