Mrs. Bartell was my teacher in 3rd grade. I remember her well. Every day she would read a poem to…Read More the class, and I remember looking forward to that, it gave me a love of poetry to this day. I even remember our class having a surprise "bridal shower" for her when she married Mr. Bartell!! I am sure she made many more lasting impressions on the other children she taught! My condolences to her family. Carol Himmel Sarames.

I was very fortunate to have Mrs. Bartell for 2nd and 3rd grade at Norwood Elementary. I can…Read More honestly say that she was the best teacher that I ever had in elementary school! Mrs. Bartell had a way of teaching that I responded very well to and I have never forgotten her. It's been over 30 years and I still have the silver dollars she gave to our class for the holidays and at the end of the school years. I remember how Mrs. Bartell used colored chalk when doing lessons on the board and the special way that she taught us how to spell Mississippi! What a wonderful tribute her daughter wrote about her mother, it is nice to know that Mrs. Bartell lived life to the fullest and on her own terms. I am very sorry to hear about her passing and my deepest condolences to her family.

I have known Bee since 1972, when she attended the grand opening of our new boat showroom. She was…Read More very knowledgable about the Village and our community, and was a great source of advice over the last forty years. She was always a great lady, and was tough as nails! I am very sad to hear of her passing.

Joe swept my sister off her feet back in 1979 -his first and only love- in his big blue Cadillac;…Read More When they met they both knew that they would marry for it was love at first sight and thereafter; When my sister, Patty, became terminally ill Joe stuck by her faithfully- his love, respect, and commitment never wavering;- living by his marriage vow he'd made with her; Long after her passing Joe still remained committed to our family; Senator LaValle captioned so emphatically with his statement that Port Jefferson will be a profoundly emptier place without Joe; I will always love and miss Joe;

It is wonderful when someone shares great information and memories of the Apollo program. I only…Read More wished I could of been there to see them lift off but still have great memories of watching it on television. Neil Armstrong was a true hero, humble and always deflected praise to others in the program. He now belongs to history and the ages.

yes, that trip to mars that was just made is also a hoax, along with Pearl Harbor and 9/11....if we…Read More need to think for ourselves then you just need to think...or crack open a book

its a fact that the majority of businesses are SMALL businesses so supporting these small businesses…Read More is just as if not even more important than supporting the big ones some of which that pay no taxes. So trickle-up is more effective than trickle down. You don't need a bette example than our country, but you must be an expert economist
