The Terryville Fire Department was established in 1950 for the fire safety and emergency rescue operations of Port…More Jefferson Station and Terryville. The area they protect encompasses 5.8 square miles and about 18,000 residents. There are three engine companies operating out of three different stations. Engine 1 is located in the station at 19 Jayne Blvd., Engine 2 is at the station on Old Town Road across from Terryville Road and Engine 3 is at 433 Canal Rd.. Principal April Victor presides over Terryville Elementary School, one of the four elementary schools in Comsewogue…More School District. The school offers the same safe environment for learning that the other schools in the district offer and many clubs, music and arts programs.</p> <p>Encouraging literacy is important, so the school is a part of the classroom Balanced Literacy Program. It also hosts a very popular career day where local members of the business community come to share their skills with the children. It has many other creative partnership programs to expand learning.</p>
