Available year-round, the Town of Brookhaven boat ramp is open for resident and non-resident use. From May throughMore November, a permit is required to launch boats or a daily fee must be paid. For residents of Brookhaven, the seasonal fee is $60 and the daily fee is $25. It also offers senior citizen discounts for residents. For non-residents, the launch fee is $55 per day. Non-residents must also pay for parking in the lot. The boat ramp is located to the west of the Port Jefferson Marina, right off of West Broadway.

In 2009, reconstruction of Mary Bayles Park was completed by Brookhaven town to make the sliver of property moreMore appealing and enjoyable. Although it looks like the entranceway to Danfords, this little park is owned by Brookhaven Town. The concrete walkways make for a leisurely stroll from East Broadway to the harbor with benches and landscaping that provides privacy from the ferry parking lot next door. The walk goes around a statue of a sailor stoically gazing out over the waters of Port Jefferson harbor. The park has a gazebo with benches and tables for sitting.
