The organization provides emergency medical services to a 16 square mile area of Suffolk County, which encompasses 30,000 individuals. It provides 24 hour response services, operating several ambulances and emergency vehicles. In addition to medical emergencies, it responds to technical rescue as well as providing first response life safety to biological, chemical and radioactive hazards. Volunteers are always welcome and are trained by the Corps.
The Terryville Fire Department was established in 1950 for the fire safety and emergency rescue operations of Port…More Jefferson Station and Terryville. The area they protect encompasses 5.8 square miles and about 18,000 residents. There are three engine companies operating out of three different stations. Engine 1 is located in the station at 19 Jayne Blvd., Engine 2 is at the station on Old Town Road across from Terryville Road and Engine 3 is at 433 Canal Rd.. The department is a hybrid professional and volunteer organization.
