Small Science, Tall Ship Tickets Today in Port Jefferson

Good morning Port Jefferson. Here’s a look at what’s happening in the area on Wednesday.
- Explore small science with the kids. The Maritime Explorium's activity this week is "Explore Nanotechnology: The Science of the Very Small." The museum in the village of Port Jefferson is open from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. today.
- Set your sails for the Long Island Sound. The tall ship SoundWaters will sail into Port Jefferson Harbor for afternoon and evening trips through the Sound starting Aug. 8. Tickets ($25-$35) are on sale now – click here for more details.
- Get swabbed. Head over to the Port Jefferson Fire House on Maple Avenue at 4 p.m. to participate in a bone marrow drive to help a New York City police officer diagnosed with blood cancer.
- Get your "art" on at the library. The Port Jefferson Free Library has an exhibit on sculpture you won't want to miss, the last in its four-part series "Art at Your Library."
- Meet the newest religious leader in town. North Shore Jewish Center in Port Jefferson Station has welcomed a new addition to their family: Rabbi Aaron Benson. The organization will hold services and a BBQ party during which members can meet him; click here for more details.
