Families Walk for Hope

More than 15,000 women in our community this year will receive care at the Fortunato Breast Health Center at John T. Mather Memorial Hospital. On Saturday, May 4, at 9 am, area residents can show their support for these women and the Center by taking part in the 19th annual Families Walk for Hope.

The fundraiser for the Breast Health Center is a five-mile walk through scenic Port Jefferson and Belle Terre. Some walk to support women with breast cancer, others in memory of a mother, sister, daughter, friend or co-worker whose life was cut short by the disease.

Sign up as an individual or form a team with family and friends, co-workers or schoolmates. Register at www.matherhospital.org/walk. Those who can’t be at the walk can register as a “virtual walker” or support an existing team. Call 631-476-2723 for more information. The $20 registration fee can be paid in advance or at the Walk. Registration begins at 8 am.
