What Every Woman Should know About Women's Cancer

John T. Mather Memorial Hospital and the Town of Brookhaven Women’s Services will present the women’s health program: What Every Woman Should Know About Women’s Cancer on May 9 from 6:30-9 pm at Brookhaven Town Hall in Farmingville. 

The free program will offer information on the latest approaches to screening, diagnosis and treatment of breast and gynecologic cancers, as well as other health information of interest to women.

The presentations will be followed by a question-and-answer period. To register, call 631-686-7879. 

The presenters are:
Michelle Price, MD - A board-certified radiologist who specializes in breast imaging, Price is Co-Medical Director of the Fortunato Breast Health Center at Mather Hospital. Price also provides education to her peers at the Hospital’s weekly Breast Cancer Committee and has been a keynote speaker at Mather’s annual Community Health Care Symposium. She lends her support to Mather educational and fundraising programs. Price received a 2013 Brookhaven Women’s Recognition Award, which honors women who live or work in Brookhaven and who have distinguished themselves in their professions. 

B. Hannah Ortiz, MD
- A board-certified gynecologic oncologist, Ortiz is Director of the Department of Gynecology at Mather Hospital. Ortiz specializes in gynecologic oncology  (more)using minimally invasive and robotic surgery. She has a private practice at Sound Gynecologic Oncology, PLLC in East Setauket and Mattituck, focusing on complex pelvic, benign, and cancer surgery. She also is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Medicine at Stony Brook University School of Medicine.
