JFK Middle School to Perform Willy Wonka, Jr.

Auditions for school musical will be held next month.

John F. Kennedy Middle School announced plans for its next school musical Willy Wonka, Jr. The district made the announcement on their website earlier this week.

Broadway Jr. created the “cleaned up” version of the popular musical. This company is also responsible for kid-friendly versions of other popular plays such as Into The Woods and Guys and Dolls.

Willy Wonka tells the story of Charlie Bucket and his desire for a better life. Bucket receives a golden ticket and visits the wonderful world of Wonka’s chocolate factory, where a slew of adventures begin.

According to Broadway Jr., the show’s average running time is about 80 minutes and will be a kid-friendly, fun show suitable for young performers and attendees.

All students interested in participating in the play should head to the chorus room at the middle school to sign up for auditions. All auditions will be held on Nov. 4 and Nov. 6 after school.
