Updated: At St. Charles, First Baby of 2012 Born to Port Jeff Library Employee

Robert and Jan Johnson brought baby Rachel into the world Sunday morning.

As Port Jefferson's only hospital with a labor and delivery unit, has the opportunity to deliver the first baby in the village every year. On Sunday morning, Rachael Allison Johnson became the first baby to be born at the hospital in 2012.

Proud parents, Robert and Jan Johnson, of Patchogue, welcomed their 7 lbs., 8 oz. baby girl into the world at 8:16 a.m. Rachael is the second little girl in the Johnson family. Her older sister, Rebecca, is five years old.

You may have the opportunity to congratulate the new Daddy in person. Robert has worked for 6 years at the as its building operations manager and handles all their technology needs as well. According to Robert, Jan is a "home administrator."
