Why Go: Pep and The Soul Explosion Band are a local Long Island band making a wonderful name for themselves playing classic 70s, 80s, R&B, Soul and  Funk.

Why Go: Attend this Annual Outdoor Sculpture Show with an artists' reception in the hospital courtyard. Artwork consisting of clay, colored glass, iron, bronze, wood, steel and copper will be featured. Sculptures are created by predominantly Long Island artists. Larger works are displayed on the hospital's lawn.

Why Go: Exhibit explores Stony Brook Village pre-1940 as depicted through photographs. Original photographs from the collections of the Three Village Historical Society and individual collectors have be enlarged offering captivating, detailed images of the individuals, architecture, and landscape of Stony Brook.

Where/When: , Saturday/Sunday, June 18-19 during regular hours. Special Artist Reception Saturday, June 18 between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m.

Why Go: Diane Romanello returns to to Imagine Gallery for a special exhibit of original art from her new collection on Saturday. Diane is one the best known Long Island Artists and her scenic paintings are characterized by a sense of beauty and romance, inviting the viewer into a serene, natural world. This will be her only showing on Long Island this year. Her work will be on display until July 1.

Why Go: Do you have any unwanted computers, TV's and other small equipment that you are ready to throw in the trash? Don't do it. Eagle Scout Troop 454 is hosting a Recycle Drive. They will take any equipment, working or non-working and will dispose of it in an environmentally friendly way

Where/When: , Saturday, June 18 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Why Go: Discover a side of Port Jefferson village that you didn’t know existed. In this interactive adventure, you’ll find out which town residents were tried for witchcraft, the best place to go for some gin (in the 19th century), why the town changed its original name, how local spies helped George Washington, and much more. Grab some adventurous teammates and get ready for an unforgettable day!

Price: $20 per person (pre-registration required)

Where/When: West Meadow Beach, Saturday, June 18 at 10 a.m. or Noon

Why Go: Sponsored by the Town of Brookhaven and conducted by Eileen Gerle, Environmental Educator, this program is for children ages 9-12. Children will keep a log of their monthly exploration of West Meadow's plants and animals of varied habitats, salt marsh and assist with species monitoring programs. At the end of each completed season each child will earn an official Ranger patch.

Why Go: Design your own individual bubble wand and test it on the outdoor deck of The Maritime Explorium at Port Jefferson Harbor. Children and adults may participate in this weekend’s Super Science Focus, as well as all other permanent exhibits and activities.

Why Go: WAVE Lounge at Danford's presents live music and fun every Saturday Night. Enjoy breathtaking views of the Long Island Sound, Tapas, Cocktails, Wine and Beer.

Where/When: Cedar Beach/Mount Sinai Harbor, Saturday, June 18, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Why Go: Organized by , the Shellfish Restoration Project has been ongoing since 2000. This hands on project is lead by group of volunteers who dedicate their time to assist in the growing of the shellfish seed and placing them into protected sanctuaries. Volunteers clean the protective cages, plus sort and reduce the density of the oysters and bay scallops to establish a self-sustaining population of oysters in the harbors. Whether you can volunteer the day or just an hour, here’s a way to help out!

Why Go: Enjoy shopping for your local produce and listening to music at the Port Jefferson Farmers Market sponsored by the Economic Development Council every Sunday.
