LIRR: For Morning Rush, No Service From Port Jeff

Service still suspended on LIRR east of Huntington of Port Jefferson line.

The Long Island Rail Road announced that service between Port Jefferson and Huntington will continue to be suspended during the Tuesday morning rush hour because of lingering effects from Hurricane Irene.

"There is still significant damage to many portions of the LIRR system due to Hurricane Irene, including flooding, numerous fallen trees and power outages," the LIRR announced on its website.

Patch will update the status of the Port Jefferson line on the LIRR as more information becomes available.
