Meet Five Port Jeff Patch Bloggers

Learn about some contributors to Local Voices.

Several members of the local community, including doctors, politicians, students and business owners, blog on Patch's Local Voices.

Here are a handful of contributors to Port Jefferson Patch:

1. We have a bunch of great bloggers from the . These librarians have been writing about books, events and other happenings at the library.

is a librarian who works in many of the library's departments, she's a native Port Jeffersonian and says that "you'll never know where you'll see me next." is a librarian in the Children's Room and says that she loves "recommending new and classic books to children and their grownups." And is a Young Adult librarian.she blogs about "all the awesome programs and events that will be happening at the Teen Center."

One of the more exciting and fullfilling things we do here at Patch is work with our teen bloggers who come to us through the monthly "Write Local" program we formed with the at the Port Jefferson Library. We have two bloggers so far and we're signing on more every month. is a teen who says she loves "to read, write, sing, act, listen to music, and cook. She became a blogger because she wants the world to be able to see her work. is another teen blogger who writes about movies and restaurants around the village.

3. is an active pet blogger. She says that she is "the Deputy Mayor (Business Manager in human terms) of for over five years." Check out her blog posts on dogs.

4. is a retired teacher who enjoys writing short stories, poetry, and reviews. He is currently teaching writing short fiction at the OLLI program at Stony Brook University. Makofsky frequently blogs about all of the great live music events around Port Jefferson.

5. is a self-proclaimed "impromptu photographer." He loves to take photographs and blogs about many things, especially the Port Jefferson Documentary series that happenes at Theatre Three in the Spring and the Fall.
