For Rocky Point's Linda Rubino, her dog is now her hero. In early February, Rubino, 49, suffered a major stroke and collapsed. But her German shepherd, April, came over and started to lick her on her mouth, which her husband Tony says kept her from gagging on her own saliva, according to a CBS 880 report.

Three Village

Firefighters from the Setauket Fire Department and the Selden Fire Department responded to a fire on Arbor Ridge Lane in South Setauket at approximately 2:45 a.m. Thursday morning. According to Chief Dennis Mirante, the fire was under control within 15 minutes, and there were no injuries to either the residents of the home or the firefighters at the scene.
