Fall into Fun Carnival at Heritage Park

Where/When: Heritage Park, Thursday, 6 - 10 p.m., Friday, 6 - 11 p.m., Saturday, 12 - 11 p.m., Sunday, 12 - 6 p.m.

What: Annual carnival at Heritage Park. Fireworks on Friday night.

Port Jefferson Music Festival

Where/When: Port Jefferson Village, Friday, Saturday and Sunday

What: Port Jefferson's 7th annual American Music Festival, sponsored by J. Faith Entertainment and the Greater Port Jefferson Chamber of Commerce. The festival is loaded with 25 headlining bands and emerging artists on multiple stages around Port Jefferson village. The event will also provide a special Kid-Zone that includes rides and hands-on activities. Everyone is welcome to join in the fun-fueled days of the American Music Festival. All proceeds will go to the Long Island Music Hall of Fame Museum, and funding for the 2013 Port Jefferson Music Festival. So come on down and dance your pants off.

Movie: Greetings From Fire Island

Where/When: Port Jefferson Village Center, Friday at 7:30 p.m.

What: Do you know what role Fire Island played in the 1892 cholera epidemic inNew York City? Who was the last lighthouse keeper? All these questions are answered in this film thru beautiful photography, interesting historical information and wonderful interviews, all artistically put together by: Glenn Gebhard, Frank Turano and Mario Congreve. Reception is at 7:30 p.m.and film will be shown at 8 p.m. A Q&A will follow with Gebhard and Turano.

Treasure Island

Where/When: Theatre Three, Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m., Sunday at 3 p.m.

What: Treasure Island, a musical adventure based on the Robert Louis Stevenson's novel will be at Theatre Three. Click here for our preview of the musical.

Live Acoustics at Grumpy Jacks

Where/When: Grumpy Jack's, Friday at 10 p.m.

What: Two Man Acoustical Jam will be at Grumpy Jacks performing.

Shellfish Restoration Project

Where/When: Mt. Sinai Harbor (Town of Brookhaven Parks Dept Facility) past Cedar Beach, Saturday and Sunday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

What: Coastal Steward needs volunteers to help get shellfish in the water before the winter. Go to Mt. Sinai Harbor  (Town of Brookhaven Parks Dept Facility). Look for green fence, next to Old Man's Marina. Call Dave at (516) 946-6560 for more info and to schedule volunteer hours. Community service credit available.

Junk and Treasure Sale

Where/When: The Harborside at Port Jefferson, 150 Dark Hollow Road, Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Annual Fall Fair

Where/When: First United Methodist Church, Saturday at 10 a.m.

What: Annual fall fair featuring a country store, sewing and crafts, bakery, books, knitting, grandma's attic, holiday and lunch.

16th Annual Breast Cancer Victory Day

Where/When: John T. Mather Memorial Hospital, Saturday at Noon

What: The annual gathering is a day of triumph and togetherness for anyone who has been touched by breast cancer. Hundreds of survivors, family members and supporters will hear inspirational speakers, receive information on treatment and services, and receive emotional support from others who have shared their experience.

Estuary Day 2012

Where/When: Maritime Explorium, Saturday at Noon

What: Estuary Day is a national celebration of the vibrant and essential coastal areas where fresh and salt water meet. Maritime Explorium is celebrating estuary here on the shores of Port Jefferson Harbor. Lots of fun for the whole family at Estuary Day 2012.

Gourmet Hot Sauce Tasting

Where/When: Pepperheads, Saturday at Noon

What: Tom Slosser, chef and hot sauce expert will share his stories and have all his Sauces out for tasting. He usually brings a tasty dish made with his delicious products that will be sure to shake up your taste buds.

Complimentary Wine Tasting and Cheese Pairing

Where/When: Vine 2 Wine, Saturday at 3 p.m., Sunday at 1 p.m.

What: Vine 2 Wine will host a complimentary wine tasting. We will offer a Wilson Daniels Central Coast Sauvignon Blanc 2010 as well as Fattoria Poggiopiano Chianti Classico 2008. Tastings will be on Saturday and on Sunday.

Port Jefferson Farmers Market

Where/When: Parking lot in front of Lainie's Way, Sunday at 9 a.m.

What: The market has a full house of vendors this week according to manager Donna McKewon.
