Video: Intro Tutorial for Port Jeff Portal App
Mayor Margot Garant, app designer John Rago, Village Historian Ken Brady and others highlight Port Jeff Portal.
While the Port Jeff Portal app launched about a month ago, Mayor Margot Garant, Village Historian Ken Brady and others recently teamed up to create a video how-to tutorial on what the app itself can offer visitors to the village.
The app, once installed, allows visitors to tap on images and navigate to an info box to either read or listen to insight on what it was like back in time. To start, there will be seven points of interest centered in Mayor Jeanne Garant Harborfront Park to bring the historical content to life.
John Rago, who created the app, released the video on his YouTube account, and also offers some tips in the video. The video is the most recent in a series that shows users how to use Port Jeff Portal, starting with a download of the Layar app and going from there.
"It's basically as if Port Jeff is converted into a walking museum," he said.
