Stabbing Suspect Caught After Chopper Search Sunday Night

A Port Jefferson Station man was arrested on a felony assault charge after a helicopter search on Sunday night, after Suffolk County Police said he stabbed another man in Port Jefferson Station around 6:30 p.m.

Police said two men got into a fight on Route 25A and Robert Trocchio, 50, was tracked down around 10 p.m. after police searched on land and through the air to find him.

Vincent Cullen, Port Jefferson Station Business Owner, Dies at 62

Vincent Cullen, the principal of a Port Jefferson Station accounting firm and East Setauket resident, passed away on Thursday at the age of 62.

Cullen leaves behind a wife, Jill, and four children: Anne, Vincent, Elisabeth and Vanna. He was the brother of Regina Kiely, Janice Moore, Timothy, Kevin, Lee Romano, James, Michael, John, Raymond, Patrick and the late Anne.

Workers Repairing Dock at Danford's Burned in Fire

A construction crew is working to repair the dock that burned in a fire at Danford's Marina in March.

On March 8, a fire destroyed part of the dock and a two-story service structure at the marina. The fire and smoke was seen by residents and visitors all over the village.

Workers were repairing the damaged dock on Friday. An employee at Danford's Marina said that he'd been in the structure only 20 minutes before it burned down.

New Brew: 'Party Boat' Wins Port Jefferson Brewing's Name Contest

Port Jefferson Brewing Co. announced Wednesday that Salvatore Barra won the 'U Name Our IPA' contest, naming the new brew Party Boat. 

Barra will receive one growler of the new IPA, which is 7.7 percent alcohol by volume (ABV). The recipe was developed by brewer Jamie Partridge

One Door Opening, Another Closing In Harbor Square Mall

One business is opening its doors in the near future at the back end if the Harbor Square Mall while another is advertising it's imminent closure.

Cosmic Blue - a "retro/vintage/thrift" boutique shop - is opening soon next to Brewtopia, while Gabby's Closet Thrift, right next door to Cosmic Blue, is holding 50 percent off sales, with signs saying it will be closing soon.
