Long Island Walk to Defeat ALS

The ALS Association Greater New York Chapter will host the 12th Annual Walk to Defeat ALS fundraiser on Long Island on Saturday, Sept. 29, 10:30 a.m., at , East Meadow, NY. The Long Island Walk is largest ALS Walk in the country with over 4,000 participants last year.

  • DATE: Saturday, September 29
  • TIME: Check In: 9:30 a.m.
  • Walk Starts: 10:30 a.m.
  • Walk Concludes: approximately 1:00 p.m.
  • PLACE: Eisenhower Park, Merrick and Stewart Avenues, Lots 6 & 6A, East Meadow, NY  11554

The walk is wheelchair and stroller accessible. Before and after the walk, there will be family friendly activities, including guest stars, autograph signing by sports celebrities, face painting, live music, mascots refreshments and other fun and games.

Proceeds from the event will go to The ALS Association Greater New York Chapter. As one of The ALS Association's leading chapters, the Greater New York Chapter covers Long Island, New York City, Westchester County, the Hudson Valley, and Northern & Central New Jersey and plays a major role in promoting the mission to lead the fight to cure and treat ALS. The ALS Association is the only national not-for-profit voluntary health organization dedicated solely to the fight against ALS. ALSA is a member of the National Health Council.
