Board OKs Traders Cove Paving Contract

Work could begin as soon as next week.

Village Board members voted on Monday night to move forward with paving the Traders Cove parking lot, awarding a $428,700 bid to Kings Park Industries.

The funds for the project will come from revenues made from the village parking meters. Trustee Larry LaPointe said at a February board meeting that the fund had over $528,000 in reserve, leaving over $100,000 left after the paving project is complete.

According to the Port Times Record, work on the lot is expected to be done by May 24, with KPI being penalized for every day past then that work is not complete.
