The Rocky Point Artisan Brewers have come a long way in the past few years, as has the annual Cask Ale festival they hosted for the fourth year in a row on Jan. 26 at the Rocky Point Clubhouse.

The festival aims to keep an intimate environment so people in attendance can speak with the brewers while trying the unique beers available.

Nesconset Man Invents Liquor Bottle Locking Device

Feeling that there’s a need for a security product to deter and prevent today’s youth from drinking, a Nesconset resident has created a device with the hopes of doing both.

Bottle Blocker, according to its creator Richard Michiel, is a tamper proof locking device that will fit on any bottle with a neck such as liquor and pill bottles.

Chips and dip, buffalo wings, beer and soda usually make up the menu for Super Bowl parties, but how about cupcakes?

Cupcake Couture on Main Street in Smithtown is adding cupcakes, small cakes and giant cupcakes with a Super Bowl XLVII theme to their menu until the day of the big game.

In response to an article about Stony Brook University Hospital's overtime totals published Jan. 24 in Newsday, hospital CEO Dr. L. Reuven Pasternak and School of Medicine dean Dr. Kenneth Kaushansky wrote a letter explaining that the use of overtime in hospitals is widespread and justified.
