But for Best Bargain Books, that time has passed, and owners Russ and Cheryl Ruvinsky have announced the closing of their two stores, located in Port Jefferson and East Patchogue.

The frozen yogurt shop, which celebrated its one year anniversary last month, has taken a step back from traditional advertising, and using social media to become more visible and get in touch with its customers.

“Going forward, and now, it’s critical,” owner Richie Shire said of social media. “Print advertising doesn’t work as well in this business, as social networking.”

A Kings Park business is making the move to relocate further east after facing criticism and pressure from local residents.

John Gesuale, owner of Jezco Bulk Removal, said he will be moving the business to a new location in Yaphank.

"In order to accommodate the citizens of Kings Park, we have completely moved our business to a new location," Gesuale said in email dated July 22.
