We will be tasting Barrel 27 "Right Hand Man" Syrah 2007 and Violeta Cabernet Franc 2008. "Right Hand Man" has a deep garnet color and a powerful nose of black fruit and floral aromas with a touch of pepper. The palate offers dark plums, blackberry, black tea, licorice, and vanilla. The finish is beautiful with wonderful acidity composed of soil with excellent tannins and a perfect structure. The Violeta has a nose that gives off hints of herbs and spiciness. As soon as it hits the palate, a deep, rich, yet somewhat soft black fruit quality emerges from this full-bodied wine. We will be pairing our wine selections with cheese from C'est Cheese on Main Street in Port Jefferson.
