Ten Places to Donate This Holiday

Our guide to the places in Port Jefferson to help others for the holidays.

Since it's better to give than to receive we put together a list of ten places to donate this holiday season.

Rebbe's Tish, a food pantry program helps feed the hungry in the local Port Jefferson Community. Come down anytime to donate.

Have your pet's picture taken with Santa Claus. $10 for a 5x7 print with additional prints $5 each. All proceeds go to Save-A-Pet rescue shelter on Dec. 4 and Dec. 12 form 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.

A children's charity providing financial, emotional and advocacy support for families with children with life-threatening illnesses. Come down Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

People with all skills are needed to contribute as long as they have an open heart and mind. Potential volunteers complete a training course and then select from different needs that best match their own abilites to contribute wherever and however they can help. Ongoing opportunities from 2 to 22 hours per week.

Panera will be collecting for its  to benefit Island Harvest. Donate frozen turkeys, supermarket turkey coupons and non-perishable food items on or before December 24th.

The church has a hot meal program where you can help. Meals are served Mon – Thurs, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. through the Christmas season.

The  will also be collecting gently used or new coats from Nov. 19 - Dec. 17.
