Tylenol Unavailable at Many CVS Branches, Including Port Jefferson

Manufacturing back orders have led the company to change how it stocks the pain reliever.

CVS branches in Port Jefferson and Port Jefferson Station have confirmed that the Tylenol brand is no longer available from either of their locations – at least for the time being.

According to the New York Daily News, CVS changed how it stocks Tylenol at its stores in the wake of manufacturing problems at the drug's maker, Johnson & Johnson, that have disrupted supplies for more than three years.

From the Daily News: Under the new plan, CVS will try to have Tylenol in stores in each market, but will not have it in every store, spokesman Michael DeAngelis said.

A pharmacist at the CVS located on Main Street in Port Jefferson said that the CVS brand equivalent is still available in stores, as is many other over-the-counter medications that address the same issues. An employee at the Port Jefferson location also confirmed.
