At 8:16 a.m. on Jan. 1 one year ago, Rachael Allison arrived to the joy of her proud and happy parents, Robert and Jan Johnson to become the first baby born Port Jefferson at St. Charles Hospital.
RELATED: See our story about Rachael’s birth last year.
Out of the two hospitals located in the village – the other being John T. Mather Memorial Hospital – St. Charles is the only one with a Labor and Delivery Unit giving it the distinct honor every year of helping to bring the first baby born in Port Jefferson into the world.
Well, one year later, little Rachael Allison is doing just great, according to her father.
“What an amazing year she's had and as you can see she has grown quite a bit,” he said in an email to Patch on Rachael’s birthday.
January is big for the Johnson family with a birthday for Rachael, their wedding anniversary and both parents also celebrate a birthday, all within the first two weeks of the month.
“What a week!” said Johnson.
Rachael was the second little girl in the Johnson family. Her older sister, Rebecca, is six years old.
We’re still awaiting word from St. Charles Hospital about the first baby born in Port Jefferson in 2013. Check back on Patch for the news when we get it.
