About Boating Safely Course (ABS) taught by the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 2206 Port Jefferson, NY

1 Day Class Saturday March 15, 2014  8am-5pm  Cost $40/person

This course covers the basics of recreational boating.  Topics include Boat Education, Boating Safety, Boating Law and Regulation.  Individuals who successfully complete the course and exam are awarded a NYS certificate.

Recently signed New York State law, effective April 30,2014 requires the passing of a Boating Safety Course if you are under 18 years old and want to operate a motorboat or personal watercraft. Suffolk County law effective November 6, 2013 requires that all Suffolk County residents operating a pleasure vessel in Suffolk County Waterways to complete an approved boating safety course and possess and display their safety course certificate while boating.
