THE INVISIBLE WAR

THE INVISIBLE WAR won the 2012 Sundance Film Festival Audience Award: U.S. Documentary Nestor Award for Courage in Film Making at the 2012 Human Rights Watch Film Festival; and the Silver Heart Award at the Dallas International Film Festival.

THE INVISIBLE WAR is a moving exposé of the existence of military sex crimes, chronicling the military women’s struggles to rebuild their lives and fight for justice. It also features hard-hitting interviews with high-ranking military officials and members of congress that reveal the perfect storm of conditions that exist for rape in the military, its long- hidden history and what can be done.

This powerful film directed by Kirby Dick describes the painful truth, which our female veterans face while serving our country.

The Port Jefferson Documentary Series, sponsored by the Greater Port Jefferson~ Northern Brookhaven Arts Council, brings directors, stars, or experts for each film into the theater for an up-close and personal question
and answer session. The guest speaker for this screening will be the director/writer Kirby Dick.
