Shellfish Restoration Program

Organized by The Coastal Steward, the Shellfish Restoration Project has been ongoing since 2000. This hands on project is lead by group of volunteers who dedicate their time to assist in the growing of the shellfish seed and placing them into protected sanctuaries.

Volunteers clean the protective cages, plus sort and reduce the density of the oysters and bay scallops to establish a self-sustaining population of oysters in the harbors.  Whether you can volunteer the day or just an hour, here’s a way to help out.
