New Children's Programs at Port Jefferson Free Library.
In addition to our regular programs enjoyed by our young patrons, we are always on the lookout for new ideas to spark their interests and enrich their lives. The following programs have been added for early March:
The Hobby of Sports Card Collecting

For ages: 7 - 12 years old
Sports enthusiast Brian Mori will discuss the history of Topps sports cards, as well as interactive sports cards and games on the Internet. Each child participating in the program will receive a starter sports card collecting gift bag. Registration is in progress. Parents are welcome!

Getting Ready to Babysit Workshop
Saturday, March 2 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM
For those in Grades 6 - 8
This three-hour course is designed to help teens develop the skills necessary for babysitting. Topics will include child safety, developmental stages and planning age-appropriate activities. Certification by the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Suffolk County will be awarded upon completion of the course. A $10 fee is required, payable at the time of registration, by check to "Port Jefferson Free Library." Registration is in progress.
