Cops Searching For Man Who Robbed Port Jefferson Station Restaurant

Lone thief broke front door and took cash from Il Porto Bello Italian Restaurant.

A man who broke into a Port Jefferson Station restaurant and stole cash is still on the loose and cops are looking for the public’s help to catch the thief.

On Sept. 21 at about 12:40 a.m., a lone robber kicked in the glass of the front door to Il Porto Bello Italian Restaurant on Route 112 and entered the store. The man – who is described as white with a bald head – then took $150 from a drawer beneath the front counter and left through the same door. He was dressed in a hooded flannel sweatshirt, light colored pants and white sneakers at the time. His identity is currently unknown.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential. Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
