Crime Report: Man Allegedly Refuses to Pay Taxi Fare to LIRR Station

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department and does not indicate a conviction.

Michael Maloney, 22, of Rocky Point, was arrested at in Port Jefferson on June 10 at about 1:40 a.m. and charged with criminal mischief. Maloney allegedly knocked eyeglasses off of someone’s face and stepped on them.

A seventeen-year-old man from North Babylon, was arrested at on Stony Hill Road in Port Jefferson on June 10 at about 1:30 p.m. and charged with criminal mischief and harassment. Police report that he allegedly threatened someone, kicked someone in the nose, broke a telephone handset by throwing it on the floor and kicked an interior door knocking it off its hinges.

On June 10 at about 9 p.m. someone called police to report that a patio table glass top was smashed, a shed door was damaged and a screen window frame had been dented at a home on Crystal Brook Hollow Road in Mount Sinai.

Joseph Farrington IV, 22, of Port Jefferson Station, was arrested at his home in Port Jefferson Station on June 11 at about 12:40 p.m. and charged with possession of a hypodermic instrument.

Paulo Antunes, 42, of Port Jefferson, was arrested in Port Jefferson on June 11 at about 5:20 p.m. and charged with menacing. Antunes allegedly threatened someone with a weapon.

On June 12 at about 4 p.m. someone called police to complain that they were assaulted by another resident at on Stonyhill Road in Port Jefferson. Police report that one individual walked up to another and slapped him because he thought the other person was saying something about him behind his back. The residents were separated.

Donald Shevlin, 52, of North Babylon, was arrested at the in Port Jefferson on June 14 at about 11 p.m. Police report that Shevlin agreed to pay $35 for taxi ride from Ronkonkoma to Port Jefferson and allegedly refused to pay when he got there.

Justin Wachter, 18, of Port Jefferson Station, was arrested in Port Jefferson Station on June 14 and charged with grand larceny and possession of a forged instrument. Wachter allegedly went to CFC Gold Buyers in Selden to try to pawn a family member’s jewelry while using a fake Connecticut driver’s license.

Someone at Academy Lane in Port Jefferson Station called police at 1 a.m. on June 16 to say that a Belgian block was thrown through the driver’s side front window of a 2010 Nissan and an iPhone, a bag and a Bank of America credit card were stolen from the car.

On June 15 at about 3:30 a.m. someone called police to complain that the convertible top was cut on a 2000 Chevrolet Corvette while parked at a residence on East Grove Street in Port Jefferson Station.

On June 15 at about 3:30 p.m. someone called police to report that their home on Legacy Court in Port Jefferson Station was burglarized. Someone had gone through a window on the east side of house and took cash from a kitchen drawer.

Someone from a home on Andover Drive in Port Jefferson Station called police on June 16 at 11:30 p.m. to report that someone through a flat round concrete paving stone through the window of a parked 2003 Honda Civic. Nothing was stolen from the car.
