Crime Report: Scuffle on Main Street, Stolen Windows and Lug Nuts

A blotter of the latest arrests and incidents in Port Jefferson

Suffolk County Police Department Sixth Precinct reported these incidental arrests in Port Jefferson and Port Jefferson Station during March 2-8.

A seventeen year old of Port Jefferson Station was arrested March 8 in Setauket and charged with petit larceny. Reports state the female allegedly stole cosmetics and a handbag from a store located at 3990 Nesconset Highway, Setauket.   

Carmelo Tineo, 48, of Port Jefferson Station was arrested March 5 in Port Jefferson Station and charged with assault. Reports indicate Tineo allegedly struck a man in the back of the head with a pole on Main St., Port Jefferson Station. Reports also state the victim required medical attention.

Manpreet Singh, 22, of Middletown was arrested March 5 in Port Jefferson and charged with disorderly conduct. Reports indicate Singh was involved in an altercation on Main St., Port Jefferson Station. Reports also state Singh was told by police to disperse, and she refused.     

Tamer Aga, 22, of Coram was arrested March 5 in Port Jefferson and charged with resisting arrest. Reports state Aga allegedly pushed and struck a victim on the side of the head and resisted arrest.

Bernard Strome, unknown age, of Rosedale was arrested March 5 in Port Jefferson and charged with disorderly conduct. Reports state Strome was allegedly yelling and pushing into a crowd of people. When police arrived, reports indicate the male refused to disperse.    

Walter Smith, 54, of Mount Sinai was arrested March 4 in Port Jefferson Station and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Reports state Smith was driving westbound on Canal Rd., Port Jefferson Station when he was pulled over by police for allegedly operating a vehicle with a suspended license, and for allegedly possessing heroin and oxycodone.    

Robert Whittaker, 43, of Port Jefferson Station was arrested in Port Jefferson Station and charged with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Reports state Whittaker was driving his vehicle on Route 112 at Washington Ave., Port Jefferson Station when he allegedly was operating it without a driver’s license.    

Emin Cohen, 27, of Coram was arrested March 4 in Port Jefferson and charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and petit larceny. Reports state Cohen allegedly falsified a sales report to an employer multiple times and received a $300 commission that he wasn’t entitled to. Reports also indicate Cohen was in possession of oxycodone.    

Jonathan Delrio, 22, of Port Jefferson Station was arrested March 4 in Selden and charged with criminal contempt, and criminal possession of a weapon. Reports indicate Delrio was in alleged possession of brass knuckles.    

Brian LaSalla, 22, of Port Jefferson Station was arrested March 3 in Port Jefferson Station and charged with first offense DWI. Reports state LaSalla was operating his vehicle westbound on Route 25A, Mount Sinai and was pulled over for alleged speeding when the officer noticed he was intoxicated.    

Thomas Klein, 23, of Port Jefferson Station was arrested March 3 in Selden and charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Reports state Klein was in the 7-11 parking lot on Boyle Rd., Selden, when he allegedly had possession of roxycodone.    

John Kruk, unknown age, of Port Jefferson Station was arrested March 2 in Coram and charged with petit larceny. Reports indicate he allegedly took the tire rim and lug nuts from a vehicle parked on Lincoln Ct., Coram.    

Debra Meyer, 38, of Port Jefferson Station was arrested March 2 in Selden and charged with fourth degree grand larceny. Reports state Meyer allegedly stole windows without paying from the Home Depot.    

Sabrina Spadafina, 32, of Port Jefferson Station was arrested March 2 in Selden and charged with fourth degree grand larceny. Reports state Spadafina allegedly stole windows without paying from the Home Depot.  Reports state Spadafina allegedly stole windows from the Home Depot.    

James Avignone, 32, of Port Jefferson Station was arrested March 2 in Miller Place and charged with second degree aggravated harassment. Reports state Avignone allegedly called someone from a restricted phone number and threatened them.   

None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime, but were arrested for the charges listed above. They are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.  If any of the above charges have been acquitted, in order for removal from publication, one must email the writer and provide proof of dismissal.
