Crimes Nearby: Duo Locked Up For Stolen Guitars

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department or village police and does not indicate a conviction.

Smithtown

William Huergo, 32, of East Northport, was arrested Oct. 28 and charged with leaving the scene of a property damage accident. Huergo was arrested on Veteran's Highway in Smithtown at 11:23 a.m.

Johanna Ortiz, 27, of Bay Shore, was arrested Oct. 27 in Nesconset and charged with first degree operating a motor vehicle while ability impaired by drugs, as well as seventh degree possession of a conrolled substance. Reports state she was arrested at 12:17 p.m. while driving a 1997 Cadillac.

Miller Place-Rocky Point

Melinda Calone, from Rocky Point, was arrested on Nov. 3 and charged with petty larceny. She allegedly stole from the Waldbaums on 25A in Rocky Point.

David Smith, 47, of Rocky Point, was arrested in Rocky Point for allegedly leaving the scene of an accident on Oct. 21 at 10:45 p.m. Smith was driving a 2000 Chevy.

Rebecca Xavier, 23, and Keith McManus, 31, of Rocky Point, were arrested on Nov. 2 on Hill Crest Road in Rocky Point. Xavier was charged with third degree grand larceny for the theft of guitars. McManus was charged with possession of stolen property as he was found with the stolen guitars on Hill Crest Road when he was arrested.

Three Village

Cesar Terrerofiorentino, 21, of Setauket, was arrested Nov. 2 in connection with an incident that occurred in July. Terrerofiorentino allegedly crashed into a parked car and fled the scene of the accident on the afternon of July 11 at Stop & Shop on Route 25A in Setauket.

Richard Benintendi, 48, of Stony Brook, was arrested Oct. 27 and charged with second degree harassment. Benintendi allegedly punched someone in the face during a work-related argument at a business on Hoffman Lane in Islandia.

Riverhead

A 55-year-old man from Water Mill told Town Police that sometime between 2 p.m. on Oct. 23 and 9 a.m. on Oct. 27 someone took his Starcraft aluminum boat, another boat and a motor, altogether worth $1,600, from his property on Maple Avenue in Flanders. Police are investigating.

Two cars in a parking lot on Commerce Avenue had their windows shattered and property allegedly stolen from inside on Nov. 1, Riverhead Town police said.

Police received reports from the parking lot around 6:30 p.m. from victims who said their passenger side windows had been "broken out," according to a police report. The first victim had a pink Coach wristlet wallet containing her credit cards stolen from her 2009 Dodge sometime between 1:30 and 6:20 p.m, police said.

A second victim said the window of her 2007 Hyundai was also broken sometime between 1:30 p.m. and 6:20 p.m, police said. She told police that her purse may have been stolen from the vehicle, but said she may have left it at home, according to a police report.

No arrests were made yet in the incident. Police said the parking lot did not have surveillance cameras.
