Crimes Nearby: 3 Men Arrested in Miller Place Friendly's Parking Lot

Miller Place

Three men were arrested on March 11 in the parking lot of in Miller Place and charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Bryan Day, 27, of Sound Beach, William Mackin, 34, of Ronkonkoma, and Michael Lorento, 33, of Ronkonkoma, were arrested for alleged illegal possession of prescription medication.

Jennifer Jorgensen, 32, of Sound Beach, was convicted of second-degree manslaughter Monday and was acquitted of four other charges stemming from a 2008 crash, according to Suffolk County District Attorney Tom Spota's office. The Sound Beach woman was acquitted of two counts of second-degree manslaughter, one count of operating a motor vehicle while under the combined influence of drugs or alcohol, and one count of aggravated vehicular homicide.

Armed with a baseball bat, 23-year-old Jasmin Camacho in Flanders, smashing it, while a baby and its parents were in the vehicle, according to police.
said the incident occurred on Brookhaven Road in Flanders at approximately 6 p.m. Camacho, along with her friend Sheena McCoy, 19, of Brookhaven, were arrested and detained at 8:03 p.m.
Camacho, who is from Smithtown, was charged with child endangerment, criminal mischief in the third degree and false personation, all misdemeanors.

Meaghan Kearns, 29, of Ridge, was arrested on March 15 on charges of petit larceny. Police reports state that a Famous Footwear employee witnessed Kearns place a $70 pair of Nike sneakers in her pocketbook and leave the store without paying for them. The employee reported that she saw Kearns get into a yellow van with hardwood flooring in the back. The van was later stopped at the intersection of Route 58 and Osborn Avenue. Reports state that Kearns was positively identified by the store employee, transported to police headquarters, processed, arraigned, and remanded to Suffolk County Jail on $500 bail.

Smithtown

Brian Davis, 45, of Bay Shore, was arrested in Smithtown on March 13 on charges of third-degree assault with intent to cause physical injury. Davis was arrested at Sagtikos Parkway at Route 25, but reports state an incident took place at 570 Sunrise Highway in West Babylon where he reportedly punched a female victim in the face and caused lacerations that required medical treatment.

Ana Nunez, 56, of Central Islip, was arrested at the SCPD fourth precinct on charges of being an operator of a motor vehicle that left the scene of the property damage. Reports state Nunez backed a 1999 Ford into a 2003 Dodge and left the scene of the accident.
