Crimes Nearby: Flanders Man Indicted For Alleged Sexual Abuse of 2 Children

Hauppauge

A Brentwood resident was charged with robbery and criminal possession of a weapon when attempting to rob a Hauppauge gas station, Aug. 5. According to police, Tommy Bisbal, 37, went into the Mobile station on Motor Parkway in Hauppauge at 12:15 p.m. where he held the sales clerk at gunpoint in attempts to steal cigarettes. At 6:45 p.m., Bisbal was arrested and charged with robbery in the first degree and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.

Smithtown

Keith Brown, 28, homeless, was arrested and charged for burglary on July 31. Police said that Brown broke into a house on Nancy Lane in Nesconset and stole jewelry. According to police, when Brown was arrested, police found prescription medication on him that wasn’t his.

Frank Lombardi, 44, of Hauppauge was arrested and charged for lewdness on Aug. 1. Police said in March at Smithaven Mall, Lombardi was seen exposing himself in public and also at Suffolk Community College in April.

James Russo, 45, of Smithtown was arrested and charged for lewdness on Aug. 1. According to police, Russo was seen on July 3 exposing himself at Smithhaven Mall and then again on July 25 on Smithtown Bypass.

Rocky Point

Ramon Aviles, 38, of Selden, was arrested Aug. 3 in Rocky Point and charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. During a traffic stop on Hallock Landing Road police allegedly found 35 wax bags containing heroin that he hid in the front part of his pants.

Lisa Branchgrove, 48, of Mastic Beach, was arrested July 28 in Rocky Point and charged with petty larceny. She allegedly stole merchandise from a store on 25A in Rocky Point and then returned the merchandise to customer service, where she received a store credit voucher and then left the store.

Mount Sinai

Daria Okrasinski, 30, of Wading River, was arrested July 28 in Mt. Sinai and charged with aggravated DWI and seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Okrasinski was arrested on Route 25A in Mount Sinai after her vehicle, a 2005 Toyota Scion TC, collided with another vehicle. She was then found to be intoxicated and also illegally possessed the drug Alprazolam, according to police.

Flanders

A Suffolk County grand jury indicted a Flanders man on Friday for allegedly sexually abusing two children. According to Robert Clifford, spokesman for Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas Spota, Flanders resident Albert J. Carini, 53, was indicted on charges that he allegedly committed the crimes from mid-2011 through May of 2012. He is charged with sexually abusing a child less than 11 years old and another alleged victim less than 14 years old. Carini, who is currently in the Suffolk County Correctional facility in lieu of $150,000 cash bail following his Friday arraignment, pleaded not guilty to two charges of course of sexual conduct against a child in the first and second degree, sexual abuse in the second degree, and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
